The 1st Disinformation and Toxic Content Analysis Workshop (DiTox 23) took place in Vienna, Austria on September 12, 2023. This event was a part of the Language, Data and Knowledge congress (LDK 2023). The workshop aimed to shed light on how various domain approaches can be utilized to tackle disinformation at a technical level. This includes AI/ML-based methods, visual analytics, visualization approaches, and interdisciplinary strategies inspired by social sciences (i.e., computational social science). The GICP group presented “WIDISBOT:Widget to analyse disinformation and content spread by bots”.

STARLIGHT [] is a funded project by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme (Grant No. 101021797). It is committed to fostering a community that brings together Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), researchers, industry experts, and practitioners in the security ecosystem. STARLIGHT’s goals encompass expanding the comprehension of AI among LEAs to strengthen their operations, presenting opportunities for LEAs to employ AI tools in their day-to-day work, and ensuring that LEAs can secure their own AI systems. Furthermore, STARLIGHT strives to boost LEAs’ proficiency and ability to counteract the misuse of AI-assisted crime and terrorism.
